This may be such a simple question that no one has addressed it; if so, my apologies. If I want to change the tempo in a song (not at a later plac in the score, but the original tempo) how do I do it?  If I've just inserted it, the Undo command work, but not at a later times. In my searches it appeared somewhere that you can undo older things too, but I don't know how. I've also tried highlighting it and then editing, but since it is at the start of the score, the time signature and some of the notes also get highlighted, so that doesn't work either. Thanks very much.

You had the right idea when you tried to highlight it; but what you want to highlight is just the little anchor point beside it. (It's usually on the left; it will be either a diamond or a tiny ship's anchor. The default color is gray). Then press <alt><enter>, or choose edit/properties from the menu at the top of the screen. You'll be given a chance both to edit the tempo itself and/or to add or change any accompanying text.

You can also quickly find and edit each tempo by entering the following text into the Edit, Find feature: |Tempo*

This will locate the next tempo instruction, and select it. You can then use Alt+Enter, or Edit->Properties, to change it.

Thank you very much, it worked very well. I could never find the answer in the help section.
