Yes, checked http://my.noteworthysoftware.com/?topic=433 on the forum, but not sure what it means!

Equipment:  Yamaha psr510 keyboard (c. 1993), NWC 1.75b, WinXP on desktop computer, and myself, just starting NWC

Question:  Can NWC do a MIDI bulk dump from the keyboard to the computer?

Problem:  The psr510 has no disk drive or removable storage, just a small amount of internal memory.  When the memory is full, it must be deleted to do more.  At home, I can use the computer and keyboard together, but on the road, I want to use the keyboard alone in performance to play back pre-recorded accompaniments.  Yes, I want a new keyboard--but I haven't gotten the piggy bank full yet.

Need:  I need to do a MIDI bulk dump to clear the 510's memory for additional sequencing.  The 510 can only send or receive bulk dumps.

Guesses:
1.  Buy a new keyboard w/ a disk drive--saving up now.
2.  Buy additional software for bulk dumping--any suggestions?  How about MOTU's FreeStyle in the Windows version that I have read about?  (@ $170).
3.  Buy a laptop computer to use w/ the keyboard in performance.
4.  A wonderful NWC user out there can say the magic words?
Thanks a gigabyte.

Try downloading MIDI-OX from www.midiox.com and look up Yamaha's system exclusive message (if you don't already know it) to command a bulk dump from your keyboard.  MIDI-OX will send sysex messages, and I think Yamaha uses the same sysex message for a bulk dump for all its products, as sysex messages tend to be manufacturer-specific.

Thanks so much for the advice about MIDIOX.  It works!
